While I am trying to get better and taking my medisins, I like to hide in my monkey fort and pretend I’m searching for treasure, but I am being hunted by elepants. I get so close to finding the treasure, and of course there is a troll guarding the treasure, and I fight him off, but then the elepants come… and just about when they are gonna get me, Larry and aliems swoop in and lebatate my monkey bed up to the ship!

It’s neber quite happened like dat, but it’s somefing I like to fink about.

Brother are the best, eben if they try to steal your banilla syrup snack.

THANK YOU ALL so much for all your love, thoughts, prayers, well wishes and encouraging stories.  It means the world to all of us here at Marty Mouse House and we feel the love and appreciate it more than I can express.

This photo was taken of Wimbley moments ago, so you can see he is still very much bright eyed and himself.  Be assured that he is getting the best care and is comfortable.  We are doing and have done all we can to help him get better, and now we just have to wait and see if the meds can do the job to bring back some function to his arms and legs.  He is still getting himself around, and still refuses to poop outside of the litter box – such a good boy!  He is otherwise young, healthy and strong willed, so we are holding out hope for improvement.  We have a great vet and have been four times this week.  We started out thinking that it was HLP (hind leg paralysis and somewhat common in male rats) caused by the calcified disc in his spine which we discovered last January when Wimbley had to be in his healing apartment for a bit, but when the front end starting having issues we changed course and started treatment for a PT (pituitary tumor).   Still not 100% sure that is what it is, but it’s most likely.  Meds have been administered, and will continue to be.  Let’s all keep hoping, praying and vibing and all those sorts of things that they will work their wonders!

HUGE THANKS for the online and phone support of the rat community’s gem, Karen Grant, who talked me though a pretty tough night last night (really more for me, than for him).  We are so grateful to have her love and medical advice!

Please send Wimbley some love, prayers, good vibes, ju-ju or whatever you can today. He has been having weakness in his back legs and today he seems to be having trouble with his hands as well. We are starting a new medicine today so really hope this will help!   MM

Here is Fibbs coming along for moral support to the vet…
